Meet the minds behind Tree House Craft Cannabis

Wes Ritchie (Co-CEO)

Jess

Seeds (Education)
Wes has a B.A. from The University of Massachusetts and his J.D. from Suffolk Law School. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association.

Growth rings (Experience)
Wes is a political campaign consultant and Founder and Principal of Blue Barn Strategies where he led several winning campaigns including that of Yvonne Spicer the first-woman of color to serve as mayor in Massachusetts. Wes has also worked in the Massachusetts State House as Chief of Staff for Senator Barbara L’Italien and served on the Senate Marijuana Committee as an advisor regarding home-grow regulations.

Heartwood (Passions)
Wes lives in Boston, where he enjoys gardening, and spending time with his boyfriend.

Branches (The Fun Stuff)
If you happen to be in Provincetown, Wes’ favorite vacation spot, you might see him dancing to Robyn, or belting out Spice Girls or Britney at karaoke. One a more low-key evening this muggle might be binging one of the eight Harry Potter films.

While Wes has been running campaigns since he was (essentially) in diapers, he has had some other employment experience including his first job at one of those long forgotten, but much beloved, video rental stores. He also was an Assistant Manager at Spirit Halloween, which he describes as ‘hell’.

While Wes remembers playing in nature and catching frogs as a kid, he also remembers his first time getting high in the mall parking lot with high school friends who will absolutely be Tree House Cannabis visitors.

Ture Turnbull (Co-CEO)

Seeds (Education)
Ture has both a B.A. and a M.S. from Northeastern University in Public Administration and Urban and Regional Planning. He has also done post-graduate studies at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

Growth rings (Experience)
As the Executive Director of MassCare and a Commissioner on the Commission for LGBTQ Youth, Ture’s incredible experience working in politics in Massachusetts bridges the divide between policy and humanity. Earlier in his career, he also worked as a legislative director and a budget analyst in the Massachusetts Senate Ways and Means committee.

Heartwood (Passions)
Ture comes from a huge family, with eight sisters and three brothers. Currently Ture lives in Boston, MA with his rescue dog My Boy Bleu.

Branches (The Fun Stuff)
If you were stuck on an island with Ture you would be comforted by the items he chose to bring: An album of Beethoven’s 9 symphony – which he learned to love from his father – and the most amazing never-ending bowl of his mother’s chicken soup.

While Ture’s earliest memory is taking ALL of the Flintstone Vitamins in the cabinet and being rushed to the hospital, he also has fond memories of skiing in Lake Tahoe with his family.

A story that only Ture can call his own is… One night (after a few celebratory martinis) he gently and politely wiggled through a small group of men and into a store in Boston. Realizing the store was closed, he wiggled back out with a breezy “excuse me, pardon me, excuse me”. Ture came to quickly realize he had inadvertently thwarted the men’s attempted armed robbery, which he brought to a non-violent end.

Kyle York (Controller)

Seeds (Education)
Kyle graduated with a degree in Psychology from Purdue University. He has also done post-graduate studies in real-estate finance at Boston University.

Growth rings (Experience)
Kyle’s THC’s numbers guru. His work as a controller and in accounting and finance at companies such as The Davis Companies, Boston Development Group, Pyramid Hotel Group and many more give him the extraordinary ability to manage the complexities of a thriving cannabis brand.

Heartwood (Passions)
Kyle, his wife and daughter live in Lexington Massachusetts with their two rescue Huskies.

Branches (Good stuff)
If you were stuck on an island with Kyle you’d be listening to DMB and watching Below Deck Mediterranean while smoking pre-rolls and eating chicken and waffles.

If you run into Kyle at a bar or club you will hear his dulcet tones performing the classic Bust a Move.

While he has completed an Ironman, Kyle has also broken his front teeth while doing the worm at a sorority formal.

Kyle’s earliest childhood memory can be summed up in one quote: “Grandma gave me crabs!” Ask him about that one.

Jess Gallo (Procurement & Product)

Jess

Seeds (Education)
Jessica graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from Regis College. She also holds a M.S. in Global Health from National University of Natural Medicine in Portland Oregon.

Growth rings (Experience)
Jessica’s work with MassCare, Lovejoy Surgicenter, Adoption Journeys and other organizations has always combine her commitment to studying the healthiest ways of living with her unmatched ability to understand statistics, logistics and all of the nitty-gritty analytics that most people can’t.

Heartwood (Passions)
One of Jessica’s proudest accomplishments is her family: Her toddler Ronan, fiancé and pooch who all live with her in Somerville.

Branches (The Fun Stuff)
If you were stuck on an island with Jess you’d be listening to Kendrick Lamar while eating pizza and giggling with Kyle – her fiancé, not her co-worker.

While she can’t stop herself from dancing to Missy Elliot she is more likely to sing bass like Johnny Cash if given a microphone.

While Jess may have once forgotten her Bumble date’s name she will always remember taking a huge swig of her nana’s ice water as a toddler only to discover it was gin and tonic.

Aaron Bafford (General Manager, Dracut)

AARON BAFFORD

Bark (Education)

Born and raised in South Carolina, Aaron is a 2010 graduate of from North Augusta High School. While attending college, this badass drummer was signed to a record label and explored the country touring with his band. Now THAT’s the best type of education.

Growth rings (Experience)

After spending time on the road performing, Aaron worked for the some of the most influential brands in retail including Vans, in Virginia and Pennsylvania. In 2020, Aaron took his knowledge of generating sales and training employees to the cannabis industry. He most recently worked at VeriLife, a medical marijuana dispensary in Philly, where his passion for employee engagement and education really took off.

Heartwood (Passions)

Aaron is engaged to be married and while his fianceé, Natalie, is amazing… If he had to pick someone to take to a deserted island with him, the choice would be between his two dogs Jaeger and Bernie. No way he could pick between the two of them!

Secrets (The Fun Stuff)

While Aaron feels perfectly at home on stage, he is also quite the enthusiastic concert goer. Back in 2019, before the world shut-down for COVID, he attended the Have Heart reunion show in Los Angeles. This legendary hardcore band, straight out of Boston, got some entertainment themselves when Aaron ended up doing a flip off the stage. While he did lose his glasses showing his skills, he doesn’t regret it at all.

Lauren Corcoran (Community and External Partnerships)

LAUREN CORCORAN

Bark (Education)

Proud to be born and raised on the North Shore of Massachusetts, Lauren got her undergraduate degree at Bradford College and is a proud fighting squirrel. This overachiever also has a post-grad certificate in web development and e-commerce from Clark University and started her Masters of Public Administration at Suffolk University where she studied healthcare policy in Puerto Rico and Ireland. Such a smahty-pants.

Growth rings (Experience)

There are two-things we obsess over in Massachusetts: Sports and politics and Lauren has experience in both areas. While working at the State House, she also worked for the Boston Red Sox as a liaison to players’ families and clubhouse press. But her favorite sport is politics because she interned for the late United States Senator Ted Kennedy.  She worked at the State House for over 15 years in both the House and the Senate. She served as Chief of Staff for the Committees on Economic Development, Healthcare Finance, and Financial Services. But Lauren’s proudest work was on landmark legislation that protected animals.

Heartwood (Passions)

If Lauren were stranded on an island, she would want to bring her husband, D.J., who, she gushes, tells the best stories. But she would be heartbroken to leave her rescue dog Zippie who she loves to take to Pine Point Beach in Maine and who would love island life. She would also be bringing her favorite Queen album and some Sizzlin Kitchen honey siracha seitan tenders. One of her six nieces better be watching the kids.

Secrets (The Fun Stuff)

Lauren has some truly wonderful memories from both her childhood and her young adult years including when she would sleepover her grandparents house and they would take her to Revere Beach for Bianchi Pizza then to East Boston for slush. If you visit Tree House please don’t forget to ask her about dancing in a (Banana Republic suit and kitten heels) with Tom Brady and other members of the Patriots after they won the Super Bowl.
