DIY INFUSED SPECIAL ZINGY MAGIC CHILI

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey for a lighter version)
  • 1 can (15 ounces) red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup dark molasses (to maintain that Boston flavor profile)
  • 6 infused packets of ketchup, or 1/4 cup of your favorite ketchup (preferably a brand with a deep, rich taste)
  • 3 infused packets of yellow mustard, or approximately 1/8 cup of your favorite mustard
  • 6 infused packets of BBQ sauce, or 1/4 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce (choose a smoky flavor to add depth)
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water, adjustable depending on preferred thickness
  • Optional for added heat: 1 teaspoon smoked paprika or to taste

Instructions:

 

1. **Prepare the Base**: Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and green bell pepper, cooking until they start to soften, about 5 minutes.

2. **Cook the Meat**: Add the ground beef to the pot, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 8 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

3. **Combine Ingredients**: Stir in the kidney beans, black beans, and crushed tomatoes. Mix well.

4. **Add Flavor**: Incorporate the molasses, ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, chili powder, cumin, oregano, and smoked paprika (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly to ensure all ingredients are well combined.

5. **Simmer**: Pour in the beef broth or water to reach your desired chili consistency. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to meld. Stir occasionally, and add more broth or water if the chili gets too thick.
